Dr. Bell has over 30 years of experience designing high frequency through millimeter-wave (HF-VHF-UHF-SHF-EHF) equipment. His RFID work includes inventions and patents in UHF and microwave systems.
Dr. Bell has provided designs using lumped-element, transmission line, waveguide, semiconductor, dielectric, ferrimagnetic, superconductor, and antenna technologies. He is a specialist in filters, multiplexers, equalizers, couplers, dividers-combiners and impedance-matching networks; operation in extremes of temperature, altitude and dynamics. Recent design experience also includes wire antennas for mobile to spacecraft communications, antenna circuit simulators, and theft detection tags.
Dr. Bell has analysis and problem solving experience in spurious signals and noise; reliability; signal interfacing and simulation in antenna, digital signal processor, and electrooptic systems. Applications of his designs include communications and telemetry; radar and countermeasures; electronic article surveillance; signal multicoupling and rf power combining; system integration, interference mitigation and distortion reduction; simulation and instrumentation. Dr. Bell also has forensic engineering experience in patents and trade secrets including investigations of consumer electronic equipment, fluorescent lamps, radio interference, microwave heating, electromagnetic radiation and various rf and microwave equipment.
He received his Ph.D. in Engineering from UCLA (Fields of study: Electromagnetics, Electronic Systems, and Solid-State Electronics), is a Registered Professional Engineer in California, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). His publications include 15 technical papers, presentations and patents.
