STAN HUMPHRIES, Ph.D Electromagnetic Field Modeling
Stan Humphries has developed computer models as well as modeling software for complex RFID simulation. Dr. Humphries spent the first part of his career as an experimentalist in the fields of plasma physics, controlled fusion and charged particle acceleration. His current work centers on simulations of electromagnetic fields, biomedical processes and material response at high pressure and temperature.
Dr. Humphries has developed computer modeling software for RFID applications, and has provided sophisticated simulation models for a variety of near field RFID configurations. He has also authored over 130 journal publications and the textbooks Principles of Charged-particle Acceleration (John Wiley, New York, 1986), Charged Particle Beams (John Wiley, New York, 1990) and Field Solutions on Computers (CRC Press, Boca Raton, 1997).
He received a B.S. in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. He is a Fellow of the American Physical Society and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and a member of the Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics. Dr. Humphries is a professor emeritus in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of New Mexico and President of Field Precision, an engineering software company.
